16 Jul Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie
Yesterday a photo popped up on Facebook of my friend and what appeared to be a mint-chocolate-chip milkshake. Or maybe I was just craving something minty and chocolatey so that’s what I imagined it was. Either way, I had just gotten a huge bunch of mint from a woman in my nutrition class and I was ready to make my healthy “milkshake.”
So I threw some mint and chocolate (or raw cacao to be exact) together in a blender and replaced the ice cream with a bunch of healthy stuff and what do you know…a new favorite summer treat was born!
It’s like having dessert for breakfast (or lunch)…except that dessert is actually good for you! Cacao is full of antioxidants and has a little caffeine which is great for an early morning boost without the coffee. This smoothie is also full of healthy fats and protein so it should keep your tummy satisfied long after it pleases your tastebuds.
This new minty treat is definitely becoming one of my summer faves, but I just have one question. I’ve got my “milkshake” in my yard…where are all the boys?
